I can't believe its been a full decade since the day we lost Aaliyah. Today would be the exact day she passed away. Sad, but it does give me good a reason to do a portrait of her:) I googled a photo of her to use for reference. Then created everything in photoshop. R.I.P Aaliyah!

Teacher of the Millennium

Back in high school Mrs. Weldon drove me and two other students to portfolio day in Washington DC. There, I showed my colored penciled comic book to a representative at MCAD. Then I got offered a bunch of scholarships to attend MCAD. So it was either art college, or the NAVY. Basically my life wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for my high school art teacher. My art would've advanced as much as it did. I wouldn't have met my beautiful wife or the wonderful people I've come to know here in Minnesota. So with that all said. Thank you Mrs. Weldon. You were a great teacher!
